What is Wild Festival Groningen?

This first edition of Wild Festival Groningen brings together the worlds of wild beers, natural wines and ciders. Wild spontaneous fermentation is the central theme, combined with delicious food provided by nature.

Wild Festival Groningen is organized by Bierselect Groningen and Boilermaker.

What is EM2?

EM2 is an independent stage and event location. EM2 programs unique events on the Suikerunie site in Groningen. For more information about this unique, attractive location, visit the EM2 website.

What do I get for my ticket?

A ticket gives access to one session at the festival, a beautiful tasting glass (approx. 10cl) and two tokens.

What are the payment options at the festival?

You can pay with a cash card (please!) or cash.

How long does a session last?

A session lasts four hours. Session 1 is from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Session 2 is from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
The Wild Foodcourt is open from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Here you can go during and after the first session, and if you come both sessions you can continue to eat, or you come before or during the second session to eat a delicious bite!

Are the same beers served during both sessions?

There will be an overlap in beers between sessions, but also a number of different exclusive beers.
Keep an eye out on the site for the list of available beers, ciders and wines.

Are other drinks available than those from spontaneous and mixed fermentation?

In addition to wild beers, wines and ciders, there are also drinks such as kombucha. In addition, EM2 has a bar where you can order coffee, tea, soft drinks and pils.

Is vegetarian food available?

Of course we take our vegetarian visitors into account.

Should the designated driver also buy a ticket?

Yes. At the festival there are also fermented drinks without alcohol (<1%) and there is delicious wild food.

Can I leave the festival in the meantime?

Yes, that's possible. Every visitor receives a wristband.

Can I bring my own beer / wine / cider / food to share?

No, we are dependent on selling beer and food, and therefore we cannot allow bottle shares with your own drinks. We will ensure that there is sufficient to drink and eat for everyone.
You can take a water bottle with you and refill it at the festival.

Is there parking space available?

There is sufficient parking space on the Suikerunie site, but we strongly advise everyone to come by public transport or by (OV) bike.

How do I get to EM2 by public transport?

The address of EM2 is Suikerlaan 6. Take a look on the 9292 website for current departure times of, among others, Line 8 from Groningen Central Station.
